We know that 1909-1914 were the glory years. We know that AC bested UT 1909-1911. We know AC played against the NY Giants in 1908.
Have the Roos ever taken down A&M in baseball?
Yessir!
AC traveled to Aggieland in April 1912 and won. While I can't find a recap of the game, the April 13th Bryan Eagle (no College Station yet!!!) mentions A&M having to regroup after a home loss to the Roos.
The front page of the April 15th Bryan Eagle 2 days later? An entirely different story. Notice the famously inaccurate early reports of the ship's fate.
In 1913, the Aggies traveled to Sherman for a ball game, and extracted some revenge by beating the Roos in extra innings.
The April 27th Houston Post has a recap. Also, in the same column, Ty Cobb's suspension from baseball ended. His crime? Fighting a disabled heckler in the stands. Shocker. :)
Some say that his teammates' boycott of this very suspension led to the first MLB player's union.
